Default Aspen walking stick

Just finished this walking stick. Started over a year ago and decided it was about time to finish it. I must have at least 20 or so unfinished projects. So many things to carve. So little time!

That is honestly some of the finest detail I've ever seen. Just don't get any better than that! I will be studying this one for a while.

Thanks for taking time to share!

Well done Don, beautiful detail, great expression. He's a keeper. You'll get a few comments when you are out walking with him!!!

Don,

Excellent eyes and a very stong nose and face. I love the robe. How was the aspen to carve? Looks like it held every stroke , without breakout or chiping.

Great Job Don! Now if you need someone to test it out, let me know. I'm sure I could take it to Letchworth and put a few miles on it for you...

Don, nice to see someone else appreciating the lowly aspen as a fine carving wood, and turning out such a fine walking stick at the same time. Great work!

Don,
Beautiful walking staff! Exceptional carving! I looked at the other pictures that popped up with it and instantly remembered your previous carvings that didn't pop up, the meditative monk-like poses. It's like you can see them thinking...that's hard for wood to do! Wonderful contemplative carvings! Glad to see more of your work!
Wade
