| | Aspen walking stick Just finished this walking stick. Started over a year ago and decided it was about time to finish it. I must have at least 20 or so unfinished projects. So many things to carve. So little time! http://www.woodcarvingillustrated.co...00&ppuser=3200

Excellent eyes and a very stong nose and face. I love the robe. How was the aspen to carve? Looks like it held every stroke , without breakout or chiping.

| | Re: Aspen walking stick Don, nice to see someone else appreciating the lowly aspen as a fine carving wood, and turning out such a fine walking stick at the same time. Great work!

| | Re: Aspen walking stick Don,
Beautiful walking staff! Exceptional carving! I looked at the other pictures that popped up with it and instantly remembered your previous carvings that didn't pop up, the meditative monk-like poses. It's like you can see them thinking...that's hard for wood to do! Wonderful contemplative carvings! Glad to see more of your work!
