I have a lot more respect for the carvers of Native Art after my futile attemp at my totem pole..but, I'm not giving up its just going to take longer.

The trick to west coast style carving is to keep on trying. Sooner or later, it will begin to make sense. The biggest thing that throws people is the highly stylized way of showing things.
