Default Another pirate interception

This past January, the Canadian frigate, H.M.C.S. Fredericton, intercepted a boat load of pirates off Somalia. Those waters have been really hot for pirate activity over the past few years, with no let up in sight. I follow the incidents closely and am proud of the work that our Navy has been doing over there.

This carving is done in Basswood and measures 18" x 12" x 1", and the details are burned in. As with the last one I did (H.M.C.S. Winnipeg, 2009), I am sending it to the ship as a thank you for a job well done.

Bob

Awesome piece, Bob! Any boatload of pirates with a Navy vessel bearing down on it is a fine sight!

Great carving. As a former US navy man, I know the gesture of thanks will mean a lot. Excellent
