| | Another Parking Lot Carving During the last time that I took my wife to the Dentist I killed some time whittling this "Lifer" out with my new Carvin'Jack. Then today the Michigan Speedway Race was postponed due to rain so I had the entire afternoon to get it finished. I'd already seen the road race that they ran.
It's carved from a piece of southern basswood ( very dark in color) and finished with an acrylic wash. I put a final coat of 50-50 mix - water and Delta Ceramcoat Instant Age Varnish to give it an aged look. The heavily diluted varnish seals the wood but leaves vey little sheen.

| | Re: Another Parking Lot Carving Eddy .. Wonderful little guy ... You did great with your painting ....
Those quick little carvings are so much fun ... The wonderful thing about it them is you can just sit and enjoy your spare time and be creative at the same time ...
I think if beginners would try this out at first to get a little confidence .. They wouldnt get discouraged and quit for trying something too hard at first ..
Great job Eddy ..
