Here's my next project,drew the picture up on Sat.2/5/06 and roughed in the details this morning.I'll post the project as I go along.It's a bed time Santa.

Hey Mark , he"s really looking good,cant wait to see the finished carving. Vrey nice design,theres nothing better than seeing a artist coming up with thier own design. Truly unique. and truly something you can call your own.

Yes Mark it is one of my originals,although I will say that your santa was some of the impression on the long stocking hat.

Bart: Santa was carved from a 2 3/4"x 2 3/4"x 5 1/2" piece of basswood.

Mark, Really looks nice. I agree with an earlier comment - very crisp, clean lines and cuts so early in the process....very impressive. The shape and proportion of the head and face is really nice. You should do a step by step for us! Mike
