| | Re: Angel memorial to a child First, I'm glad to see you back as rarely does one of your postings ever escape me! The child angel is quite moving even in the early stages and what an experience it must be to be carving a memorial. I've never ventured into this area of carving but can only imagine the range of emotions that it would be capable of producing.
Although a bit harder to carve than the sumac you're so used to, I think that the beautiful maple is very deserving for this particular project. I love the tones in maple wood whether it's carving or in my furniture.
Thank's for posting! |

| | Re: Angel memorial to a child Hi Colin, its good to see you back. I think of you every time I go to town to get groceries. Huh? You say? lol When we drive into the parking lot of our grocer there is this HUGE flying Eagle carved into a tree base. It always reminds me of you.
Your lil Angel is breathtaking, and its going to be a very special place in the garden for these parents. My heart goes out to them.
Please show it again when your all finished with it.

There is something special in that piece, it seems to touch the soul, even before reading the story behind it...
