They could not have picked a better person for this job. Your work is outstanding. Can not wait to see the finished piece.
By the way, glad to see your back.

Thank you everyone for your nice comments. This is a challenge but what is most challenging is that it is a commission. I dont know what to do, they commissioned me to do it I didnt have the heart to mention price and you know something I dont think I can charge them for it. This is a memorial to their child how can you put a price on that. They have not seen the progress and I am terrified of them stopping in. I just want to finish it mount it in their garden and leave some day when they are not home. Enough about that I am sure I will figure it out. The carving to date is 100% chainsaw. Today I curved the body more and put the detail in the wings with the chainsaw. Let me tell you that is not only time consuming but back breaking as well. I am posting a couple of pictures with the detail in the wings after lunch I am going to take the mini sander and round the back of the wings and probably round the body more. I thought I would show you pictures of the angel as far as I could take it with just a chainsaw. I could probably take it further with the saw but I dont want to experiment with this piece.
As always comments are always welcome even if they are something I should change of fix I promise you I will not take offence.
Just read the book by Eckhart Toll "The New Earth" "Awakening to Lifes Purpose" well worth the read gave me a new look on life.
I was unsure whether to put this in the "Chainsaw " thread I will leave that for the powers to decide.
Colin
