Hey Mike,

Nice work. Just for the record... my wife and I were just visiting an Amish gourd farm last Saturday, so we got to see them up close and personal (my wife decoratively paints gourds and is facinated with the Amish). I think slight differences in clothing style might occur from area to area, but for an Amish farmer in the Lancaster, Pa area, you got him "dead on", including the straw hat. Heck, especially the straw hat... great shape.

Very nice work on your 'amish farmer', your model certainly has had an interesting history.

thanks kathy and mike i tried to some research before carving it to try and make it fairly accurate,i envy their simplistic way of life sometimes and wish i had that kind dedication, but i sure like our creature comforts!!! lol
