| | Re: Almost completed oh so very lovely, yes childrensbook style comes to mind, in a very positive meaning. evokes so good emotion , just love it... as your question, stain or natural, i think both would be good, and is purely taste question. if you have access to paintprogram in computer, try color it there a little like a stain would do, and then you have a visble you ca decide on... frame? yes, if i could i would frame too, the carving is so great it deserves a frame |

| | Re: Almost completed What a beauty!
I wouldn't presume to tell you how to finish it. You have such a sure touch with your design and carving I am sure any choice you make will enhance it. The scene reminds me very much of the town of Vitre in Brittany, especially after a drop of the local cider.
Keep up the good work

| | Re: Almost completed Your scene brought a smile to my face. Lovely concept and great execution. To stain or not is just personal preference. To decide on a frame you might take it to a hobby shop and just try a few different styles of frames to see if you like the result and then go to a framer and get a good frame if you choose that route. |

| | Re: Almost completed The scene is from the movie Van Helsing. It is the village where the vampires attack, if anyone has seen the movie.

| | Re: Almost completed Great work Deborah!! At least you captured the village before it was destroyed by those vamps As for the framing, I agree that it should be floated with a frame that ensures contrast and draws the viewer into the piece. On the subject of stain...I would ask yourself if there is a shade of stain that would better allow you to achieve the feel you are trying to obtain (i.e. eerie)
