Default Abstract ribbon carving

I've been a bit busy at home but at work on breaks and lunches I made a small abstract ribbon carving. There are three ribbons that run from bottom to top in this 3/4" X 3/4" X 6" piece of basswood. The base is a 1 1/4" cube of African blackwood. After I had it carved I bleached it to get the white look. Sorry for the p-pour pictures.

Thumbs up Re: Abstract ribbon carving

Roger .. that is so fine .. what a delicate piece to carve .. its a far plane from your normal chip carving work .. but it is beautiful in form ..

That looks very intricate and as was said - delicate. Very interesting looking piece of carving. I understand your frustration with the camera. I think many of us carvers may need to take a course on photography as well. Great carving.

I think it's great! I love this kind of piece.
And as was said before, very different from your chip carving...but your focus on perfection shines through just as clearly.

Great carving.
I've always liked carving spirals and twists. It's a real test to see how far you can go without breaking. It looks like you've reached it.
Thanks for showing this.

That looks great! It reminds me of the mobius strip I want to carve at some point.

And I'll echo the sentiments of those who wish they had better photography skills. My pics leave a lot to be desired.
