Default 7th woodspirit

Finished this guy last week. Was working back and forth between him and other one I posted yesterday. I believe he's a hunk of redwood root, found out at the cold swimming hole we go to.He's about 12inches by 7inches wide. Finished him with minwax wood-sheen,natural. critique, comments, suggestions are welcome. The background is a quilt I made.

Nice spirit! I like the wide puffy face and the smile you have produced is full with teeth so that means a lot of detail work that paid off. That smile seems to have produced the puffy cheeks and forehead wrinkles which gives him his unique personality. Nice work.

I also found myself attracted to the beautiful quilt you made. Lots of nice detail there too. On the other hand I feel that using a solid background would have made your woodspirt much more powerful in the tense of presentation. Two such beautiful works of art deserve 100% of the attention and their own individual picture and together seem to generate too much "noise". Just a suggestion.

Thank's for posting!

This is another neat jolly wood spirit and I like his smile with his teeth showing. You did a great job with him plus his older brother, the other red wood root wood/spirit you also posted.

Plus a bonus?? I like that quilt! My wife has sewed several,Id made her a new quilt rack the 1st year I was up here.We have her quilts, well some of them hanging in our house.

Thanks for sharing your carvings with us plus some neat information about yourself. Heyyyyyyyyyyy it shows that you are a real person not only a good caver plus the artist I know you are. Keep up the great work,Sharon.

Forrest
