Thanks for the history! How did the revised finish turn out? Reminds me of the British Afrika Corps. in shorts, which I heard of from my Uncle.(i'd prefer light fatigues and to be covered.) To me they must have gotten wicked sun burns showing all that skin and sand everywhere. The kilt and stockings not so much, kilt goes down a little further and they didn't have to worry about sand where they were.

I believe the new finish is an improvement over the old. Lot of work, but worth the effort. I can still see lots of room for improvement on my carvings of figures, so I'll keep practicing.

Bob...I just posted a note on your wonderful Dragon Walking Staff and now you post this... You ARE not only a great staff carver, but also a great caricature carver as well!!! It's fun carving different venues isn't it? Keep'em coming, we love em!
