I agree with Tom H, you have the eyes down pat. I'm always, as most folks I think, drawn first to the eyes and then the rest of the face. Your eyes are really presented well. I think the unfinished one if my favoriate.

Those are terrific. I especially like the two unpainted ones.

Hello all, Thanks for all the great comments! I love carving Santa faces, and am still learning and trying to improve.
Bear: I did really good at the Huntsville show, I got two First place ribbons and one second place. I also sold alot of carvings Including my Greenman. I got to talk to a lot of carvers, and got some prospects for carvings. I also visited with one of the board members here (Dylan Goodson), he is a very nice young man and a great Carver. He won a bunch of ribbons also. (Dylan get on here and tell all what you did at the show). All in All it was a great time.

Gary:
Great Santa's. I especially like the ones with the natural wood look. Can you share with us how you finished them?

Thanks,
Manteo

Hello and thanks for the coments!
Manteo: I uses Danish oil, and then a wax called "Feed and Wax" you can get both at Lowes or mosh Hwd. stores.
