It didn't take you long to finish this later carving Vince. His eyes really grab you when you first see your carving. You could almost chisel him off the log and make a mask if you wanted too. So what's your next project? Try a female face...I betcha that will slow you down.

I don`t think I am anywhere close enough to do that.I am still learn`n how to do these things. Might try that in a few more carins though.

Hi Vince, nice carving! When I finish a carving there is always something I would change. I have yet to carve one I'm totally happy with and maybe that is a good thing. Makes me always want to improve! LOL
: Did you woodburn the eyes, they look very natural?

I did not burn the eyes this time, I used a heavy paint wash. I don`t have a good bruner so I did not want to mess up these eyes. This is the first time I have done them this way with the pupil not cut out. Vince

Hi Vince, good job on the painting of the eyes. I usually burn my eyes, but I have been trying to learn how to carve out the pupil.

Vince I don't know how you could possibly improve on that carving. It's a good job you finished it the way it is without hackin it up and wrecking it. To me, it's perfect the way it is.
