Thanks for all the nice comments. Since my crow is oil paint, I'm still putting layers of washes on it to get the color effect that I want. It is still on the table.

Old Crow, that is one special crow that you carved. The pictures are terrific. That is one of the piece I would love to see in person. It sounds like you went through a layering of the colors similar to what I want to do, but yours worked out well. Excellent looking feathers and form , and that expression on its face is perfect too.
