Default Work Bench Ideas

Here are a few pictures of some of my workbench props. Keep in mind that my needs are different than yours but you can get the general idea. The first one is something I came up with to hold peices like the Nativity scene peices by Lynn Diel that I am working on. It holds them on an angle so I can use a draw knife to remove the angle corner required. The next is a easel I fasten to the bench for releif work top and bottom rails move and are lined inside with sandpaper to keep the peice from slipping. It will hold a peice 22"X however wide you want. The angle is about 80 degrees. The rest are just pictures of my work area. I hope these will help. let me know if you have any questions.

Very inventive on the holders Ron and I really like how well your work space is organized. Great looking tool racks on your bench.

Ron,
I like the Easel idea! Looks like a great way to hold and work on relief carvings!
What is that "swing-arm" wooden device in the last pictures?

Splendid looking set up Ron. Where there's a will, there's a way! I love your holders, they make the work so handy and easy to work on. There's a carver who's determined to carve!

Thanks everyone. Wade the arm that you see is the camera arm. I can use it to position the camera where I need it the camera head itself will also swing 180 degrees. I tried to come up with racks that when I reach for a knife or gouge I will find the handle first. I have to be habitual about putting things in the same place all the time. I have a tray to the right in which I keep the ones that I use on a particular project and I have an order that I place them. So neeedless to say if someones moves something I'm confused. But it's seems to work pretty well for me so far.
