| | Travel Carving kit I thought I would share a couple of photos of how I store my tools. I tend to travel a bit so I like to take my tools with me for time killing in hotels etc. I took an old fishing tackle box and made tool holders for my chisels and everything I need is neatly stored therein. The knives are a peek at what I use for whittling. The bottom of the box holds my sandpapers, strop, coping saw and bits of other things a guy might need.

| | Re: Travel Carving kit Thanks Gilly, I needed that! Was just thinking about replacing my soft side carry-all with something solid. Plus as I get more tools I need more space in the "tool box". Might just follow your example. TOM H |

I like the tool holders in the top tray!
Nice!

I believe I recognize that box from Hickory. I've looked on Ebay and can't find anything like it, but it is sure a unique carrying case for your tools! Thanks for sharing the pics!
See you in Charlotte!

Mel | I took a 1"X1" piece of pine, layed out the tool notches and used my mitre saw to cut the grooves then hot glued them in place.

| | Re: Travel Carving kit Great idea, compact, secure, and handy. Approximately how much would it weigh, fully loaded? That might work for me if it's light enough. Great idea though. Thanks for sharing it with us Gilly.

Bob | I would say 10 pounds.....maybe......it was heavier when it was stocked up with my saltwater fishing gear.
