Default Starting off With a Good New Year.

I have a 10" Delta Bandsaw that I have been fighting since I got it and today I received my 2 Timber Wolf Blades. I installed the blade and cut thru a piece of Butternut wood 3" thick with great ease. I made a few turns and the blade tracked the way it should. It gave me the feeling of getting a new saw. I was using Blades from Lowes and could not get them to track. They are in the trash now.
I have admired Lynn D's carvings for years and his ability of using a Box Cutter to carve with. Well I went to his Blog and watched him carve with the Box Cutter and was amazed to the fact that I hade to give it a try. With a few minutes on a Stone and Strop I had a new tool that I will never be without. That thing can remove wood and is great for Detailing. I'm putting it thru the paces on one of Lynns Cowboys and am realy impressed. New Tool and New Bandsaw to start off the new year, what more could you want. Try that Box Cutter you won't be sorry. Merle

Man, I know what you're feeling. I love the Timberwolf blades and it made my saw seem like a new one also. I was impressed with Lynn's work and managed to find an old 299 model in my toolbox. It is the first knife I grab now for many things.

Hi Mike, I felt The Blades from Lowes where good enough for what little cutting that I would be doing, but I sure was wrong. As soon as I opened the Blade I could tell the difference. When I tried it I was certainly was impressed. You have to use the box cutter because of the weight, but after you get used to it the weight is a Plus. When I carve now I plan my carving around the Box Cutter, like you it's the first I reach for. Merle

Glad the blades worked out.I also like Timberwolfs but I have broke a couple I guess because Timberwolf doesn't recomend their blades for 10" saws.Tony

Hi Dave, You are so right. Cut thru some Butternut 3.50" and tracked great. The Box cutter knife works great also. Used it all day today and it changed my way of carving. Removes wood fast with little effort, amazing. Merle

Glad you have a great New year with new blades and cutter. Yep the Timber Wolf blades are jewells to work with but I did not know that they are not recommended for 10" saw. I have a Grizzly 14 inch G055 and the TW blade makes all others look shabby.
Lyn converted me over to the "ol Reliable" when I first met him a couple of years ago. I have yet to use it totally but more and more. I agree with Lynn, that there is a need for other knives that the "Ol reliable can't do. Well, maybe it can but I find myself reaching for a small detail knife for eyes and all. Best wishes to you Merle on your new Year and New adventure.
