Default Scaling up

I have a new two-part post on my blog about ways to scale a carving up or down in size. I hope it's helpful.

I make my own "Proportional Dividers" for free!

If you want to scale by 2 to 7.4 (say).

Take 2 strips of thin lath sharpened to a point at each end. Set one end at 2 inches apart. Cross the pieces so that the other end is at 7.4 apart. Clamp them in the crossed position. Drill through where they cross and insert a nut and bolt.

You can now open and close the strips to transfer your measures any time you want.

Job done!

That's a great idea and it's method allows you to make them any size you need.
