I think you will be happy with that book, it really is the companion to the one you have.

You hit the nail on the head with your critique, her left foot is too small and that made the lower part of her leg thin and that is what I was seeing. Today I found a chart for standardized body proportions and sure enough it was her feet, nice catch.

I'm a new carver too, of the carvings that I sign and number these will be #50 and #51, they are my first attempt at realistic and it's has been quite a challenge, 30 of my signed carvings are folk-art waterfowl.
