| | Re: Red Oak Bracing Table Good Morning All: Dave (Lighteningbolt): I'll tell the 'man of the house' what you said. Better yet I'll let him read all the comments--he'll enjoy meeting you all. I can see where one of these tables would be a real asset and safety tool in the class room too. I thought after hubby got my table finished that there must be other uses in woodworking for it. I also thought that some type of a stop/brace to hold the other end of the work in place. It really is a nifty tool! Thanks for including your measurements also. Al: Thank you, hubby likes to work with wood, but up and until retirement it hasn't been high on his list. But now I'm hoping that he'll find the time to join me in this wonderful hobby. Not sure it will be carving--more like making furniture. Either way I win! Dave: Umm, yurrrr I think we were talking about bench brace, yerrr bench hook, yerr roses, tulips.....oh, I'm so confussed. Mike: Yep pictures work for me, oh guess everyone knows now I'm a lefty. So if your right handed you'll want you top braces/hooks on the left side. Bob: Yep he's spoiled me for 43 years lucky guy. Thank you I know he'll appreciate your compliment very much. Coffeeman: Thank you, for the tip sounds like a good-um. Did ya'll get that one too. Dave: Looks like Ed has come to your rescue. Sounds like a cool tool--hummm please share 'hard copy' (hey that's law talk) Dave I thought you were retired? Ed: Thanks Thanks again everyone I told him he could use it too. Kathy

| | Re: Red Oak Bracing Table Dave...I made one of those hooks with the cam lock, had trouble with the cam holding so I glued a strip of sandpaper to the edge of it. Made a big difference.

Just want to say thanks! Your post inspired me to get off my duff and make one for myself.
Looks like your hubby did a fine job for you.
Here's what I cobbled up this afternoon. The hook is made out of basswood.
Again, thanks for the inspiration!

Again, thanks for the inspiration! | Brian terrific work on the bracing table and the wedge is a terrific addition. I had thought it would be a plus to have some way to hold your work in place better. Excellent
I just showed your table to my hubby and he said cool, wow that's great! Which means he really thinks you did a good job. Then he said I have a modification to do on yours. hummm--Thanks Brian!
Thank you for sharing too.
Kathy
