Here's painting tip I picked up at the Kansas City show..... I use metal a lot in creating objects for my figures. I have always had a problem with getting the acrylic paint to stay on. I've tried metal primer but it doesn't seem to work very well. I ask a good friend who does decoys how he primes his leaves, etc., for his scenes and he said to use Sherwin Williams house primer. Hmmmmmmm. Buy a gallon of paint to prime the handle of a 3" coffee pot? Looking around the paint cabinet I happened across a quart can of Kilz primer. It works!!! At least the paint hasn't flaked off yet. Just thought I'd pass this along. |
