Default Other uses for a Flexcut slip strop

Ok so I know this is really going to sound cheap of me, but my electric shaver was dull the other night and I looked up the cost of replacement blades for it. $32 bucks! I pulled the old ones out and they look like little chisels to start with, so I figured that my Flexcut stropping block, might do the trick. Boy howdy did it! All I had to do is apply some of the Flexcut Gold compound to the square flat piece of leather, place the disc blades flat on the surface, apply a little pressure, and turn them counter clockwise (so the blades wouldn't grab the leather) I turned each one about 10 times (there are 3 discs in my Norelco razor) and boys, my face is as smooth as a piece of 3000 grit sandpaper. Hope this off the wall tip helps save you some money. (To be spent on tools of course!)

I never thought of that. I do sharpen mine on a ceramic stone. I will try the strop. It can only get better. Thanks for the great idea.

I didn't believe it so had to try it myself. Yep, worked like a charm! It's amazing what we learn here.

You guys think you're cheap?! HA! My mother in law gave me a womans electric razor a few decades ago that was really old when she gave it to me. So it might be 50 something like me!. LOL It works though and I'm going to try this on it!

Just had to stop and try this. Great tip. Spent about 15 min. cleaning up my old Norelco and then stropping on the flexcut strop. I won't have to shave tomorrow.

I think that sounds pretty smart. Way to think outside the box or pocketbook! Now take that 32 bucks and go buy a chisel.
