Rick I checked out the web. www.nwwood.com, looks real good as I do mostly burl carving. Have you done business with them? Also is Top Hat located near Burien, or white center? I used to live in Burien> Thanks Bill |

Bill, Top Hat is not really a town anymore, it was until the late 60's. Now it is just a wide spot in the road north of Burien on 1st Ave., just before you drop down into Seattle. I have bought from NW Wood, but I look a lot more than I buy. My wife wouldn't appreciate more wood stored in the garage. I have two large Alaskan Cedar Logs, a truck load of figured maple, and shelves of basswood, butternut, aspen, walnut, and several other woods. Almost forgot, my first garage is full of huge redwood slabs; 4 inches thick and 3-6 feet in diameter. I may never use them, but I got them free! |

I used to check out network54 regularly, but since life has gotten so busy this (WCI) is pretty much it. I love this site! By this time next year I plan to slow way down, after the barn is built (materials being dropped June 19th!) and hopefully our place in FL sells and we're in TN full time.... I have a mile of favorite sites but rarely see any of them. Check this one 1 to 5 times a day, depending on the day! Wade |

I love to check in on the chainsaw carvers to see what they are doing at http://www.network54.com/Forum/118564/ , but have never posted as I don't have a chainsaw. Their photos are awe inspiring. I've tried other message boards, and none of them have as much relevant information sharing for me, or the nice group of positive replies that this site always has. Thor |
