| | Ornament display stands Don't know where this question fits...But, has anyone made a ornament display stand? I have seen commercially made ones, made of wire, but that's all. Anyone tried one out of wood for instance?? Looking for ideas. Thanks, Tom H |

| | Re: Ornament display stands tom,
like mark has said tom wolfe does have them in his carving christmas ornaments books you can reduce the size down to make it however tall you like and you can make it as ornate as you want also.

| | Re: Ornament display stands Thanks Bart, Ken, Mark, and Daddio for information and suggestions. Some craft shows are coming up and I thought that if I could put together inexpensive little ornament display stands that it would be a good way to show some ornaments. Also thought that if I sold the stands along with the ornament, that I might be able to charge more for the ornament...Tom H |

| | Re: Ornament display stands Go for it Tom. Just make them where that are strong enough to hang an ornament.
I have some ornaments that weigh more than the others so it would have to be where the hanger material was strong. The Clothes hanger wire is strong enough if it is inserted in the base correctly. Make the hanger part tall enough Though. |

| | Re: Ornament display stands While you're at it ,how about some brass wirefrom a hobby shop,,polish it up nice on a nicely painted base,,if it's a santa, how about a base looking like a wraped present or for a snowman,,looking like a pile of snow,a wood spirit the base could look like a log or boulder?Since you're a carver,a simple carved ( or wire with an epoxy/bondo covering) to look like a branch would be nice,,or for a wood spirit, carve a leaf type base and where the stem comes out continue it up in an arc made out of wire to hold the ornament..some of these ideas might even go over well at galleries/shops where they sell ornaments and suncatchers,,,just some thoughts... |
