Are you looking for information on carving raised lettering?

Here's one thread on it:

Chris Pye's "Lettercarving in Wood" has a chapter on raised letters. It is a step by step/how to. He says, and my experience has been, that successful letter carving is a skill that is built up by acquiring a set of skills and lots of practice. Most of us, myself included, just want to knock of a sign or two for gifts or whatnot, which is as good a way as any to get into letter carving, but keep in mind that you may need to spend a lot of time learning an practicing to get good results.

He also has a good DVD on lettercarving.

Here is another option for raised lettering:

CD Books

I have both cd's, but the one you would be looking for is, "Relief Carving Revelations 1", has 3 chapters on three different types of raised lettering. You can order from Bill's site and download the cd to your computer.
