Default Inflatable sander

I purchased an inflatable sander and it is a wonderful tool... but it is too large a diameter (1-1/2") for some of the areas I need to sand. Some time ago I also purchased a sander that has the sand paper attached to a foam cylinder (like pipe insulation) but it spins on the mandrel. I glued one to the mandrel, but when the paper was shot, it was a mess getting it off the mandrel.

Does anyone have any suggestions on overcoming this problem of know of a different soft sander of a smaller diameter? The superball sander prompted me to ask... it is a great idea!

Denny

Thair are lots of aptions for power sanding the ones I like are.
1 a 1/4 in shaft to fit your hand piece that has a 1/2 inx2in cylinder that has a slot in it covered with foam a locking device and tool for locking the cloth backed sandpaper you wrap the sandpaper around the cylinder put the ends in the slot and lock in place with the holding device.
2 a1/8 x app. 2in round rod with a slot down the middle insert the sandpaper down the slot even on both sides wrap the sandpaper around the rod several times and secure with a small o ring or elastic band wrap the paper so it rotates in the proper direction so the edges do not bind and hit your carving.
3 a 1/8 round rod with threads part way up the shaft then more rod above that you make a cylinder of sandpaper to the diamiter you like the inside diamiter so it will screw onto the threads of the rod secure with with small o/ ring or elastic band I like the o/rings because thay don:t break.
It is hard to describe the sanding tooles I hope this helpes these are available at many carving suppliers.
Gordo.
