Default Great Source For Graphite Paper

I'm most likely a day late and a dollar short on this but I thought that I'd bring it up anyway.

Yesterday I went to Michaels to buy some graphite paper. As many of you know one source is Walnut Hollow which sells it by a 12" x 24" sheet for around $2.79 a package. I've also found it sold by other manufacturers at Michaels so while there I looked for an alternate source. After about 15-minutes of looking I couldn't find any so I asked a saleperson for help. He really didn't know what I was taling about so I tried to explain it's use which only confused him. Then I thought that I'd compare it to carbon paper and explained that it was just like the carbon used for making copies on a typewriter. That only baffled him further as I guess he didn't know what a typewriter was. About that time I asked him to go and ask his manager.

In a short time he returned and took me to another isle and we looked there for a good five minutes with no luck. Then he mentioned that the manager said that it came in a roll. It was then that I spotted the product. Up until that point we'd been looking for a flat package.

The point of this dissertation is that I found a product called Sally's WAX-FREE Artist's Graphite Paper 12 sheets - 18" x 24" per sheet. They come in a roll about the size of an aluminum foil package. Michaels had a $14.99 price tag on the shelf but when I hit the register the price was $12.99 and I had a 40% off coupon so I ended up with 36 square feet of graphite paper for around $7.79 plus tax! I think that's the cheapest that I've ever been able to pay for it.

Great find / tip Eddy, thank you! You made me laugh with the description of the person helping you, sad but very common.

I scored some today and I had the 40% coupon too! Thanks! I found it hanging by the artist pencils.

Nomad... Ain't that a great find? I mean it wouldn't even be a bad deal without the coupon but with the coupon it's a steal. And if anyone wants to wait until Michaels offers a 50% off coupon they can even save a few sheckles more!

Dave... If it wasn't so sad it would have been hilarious! This wasn't a kid. He had to be in his early twenties. You'd think that he'd be familiar with the term "typewriter"even if he never had or used one. I still have a Smith Corona on my desk and it wasn't that many years ago that I bought cartridges and correction tape for it at Staples. I don't know if you can buy them any more but it wasn't more than 4 or 5 years ago. I guess the flip side is if I was up-to-date I'd have whipped out my smart-phone, Googled a picture of a typewriter, and shown him what I was talking about..... that is if I actually had a Smart phone and knew how to use it!

Cedarshavings... Like I said it's in a roll 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" x 18". The box is a light gray and black with Sally's in large red lettering and the product description in white lettering. In my store they had it standing on end at the extreme left end of the isle under the pencils . You really have to look for it to find it.
