Default A fun medim

Hello everyone,In order to determine the size block I want, I made up a quick study in clay to flesh out general ideas. None of the details are in place, that'll happen in the wood, here I'm just getting general proportions. The hawk by the way is a bit over 24" tall and is only 1/8" to 1/4" of clay. I mounted a stick into a plywood base and sprayed "great stuff" around it to make a big pile, and then sculpted it to the general shape of the hawk. Then covered it with clay .You can shape that stuff very accurately, minimal clay is needed. That's how I did the Shroud model. The other clay models are parts for a bigger piece I'm doing. They are approx. 20" x 30" with a 2" relief. The clay models are a great way to work out problems beforehand, and as you know 3 dimensions always look different than a drawing. It's easy to draw things you just can't carve

Mark, I don't know if you are resizing your pictures but this board I think takes a max of 380 X520. Anything other than that will not post.
Hope this helps.
You frist postings sounds interesting and would like to see the pictures.

Thank you , that's probably where my problem lies.. the second problem is figuring out how to resize a photo,, scissors or an x-acto knife don't fit in my computer,,,I sent a bunch of photos to the gallery and had no problem, and thought I could do the same here,,, well back to the drawing board

Yep, those are to big for posting in the message part. Depends on the system you have on how to resize pictures. I use an old Photo Max Pro. It does the job.

I quit trying and just sent them to the gallery! So you'll have to skip back and forth to see just what it was I was talking about,, jeez ,after all that I forgot what I was trying to say. They will eventually end up in Alternative Mediums. Again I am sorry for my lousy computer skills

Oh,flattery will win me over everytime! HAH. 'cause around a computer I'm a bumbling clutz, but I can usually find my way around a block of wood, which my head is usually a substitute for. Hope you did find the photo's I was referring to, I can go into more detail if you like , if not just enjoy them,
