Default foam tips for tools

Hi, I hope this makes sense. I have seen tools come with little foamy tips to protect edges and things like needles etc. I have searched on line and cant seem to find them. anyone know what Im talking about and where one can find them? it seems that would be an excellent reminder to take better care of my sharp edges.

Brian, I bought a box of them on Ebay. A local bar could probably save some for you also. If your lucky, it might still have a full bottle attached.

I'm with you Tom, the synthetic corks work great. I first used the real corks from wine bottles, but found they actually dulled my tools. Plastic tubing is a bit more compact than the corks, so on the really small palm tools I do use the tubing. I used CA glue to glue a small piece of wooden dowel in the end to keep the sharp end from coming out. HTH

I have had good luck using toothbrush tubes for my knives. For my chisels I just started using a plastic box with narrow compartments (pencil-box). I stuck in small block of foam ineach compartment at the tip end to stop the tip from bunking against the plastic.
