Default filing in gaps?

On of my wips has a gap where it should not be and I can not correct it anyway except filling it in, I have used dust and glue before, only to find it rough even after sanding. I could fill it in with some woodpieces b u t it is at the elbow bend and I have no way of clamping it, I am sure knowing this board somebody will help me
Thanks in advance
Alice

I've used Kulis Karvit it works well but it doesn't take a wash well compared to the rest of the piece. It will fill in gaps and it can be carved. They claim it can be burned as well but I've not tried that.

I use a chip of wood and crazy glue.

Black electric tape works great for clamping odd shapes it will strech and pull tight.

I have touted the merits of polyester casting resin in previous threads. It fills whatever you want filled, will not let go unless you burn it out, and can be carved and painted (as the material mentioned by TreeWizard, it will not be covered by a wash). I use it for all filling needs and also as glue. If used in an unpainted piece the filled area looks like it was filled by the finishing material.

Thanks to all for your help ,the wood is poplar about 18"+20 and very white small wood pieces need to be bend ( hard to do) like I said it is right at the elbow bend ,the tape should do the trick to hold some thing ,there are several small gaps some about 1/8" deep,
Polyester raisin? I have not heard of it ,would Walmart or Hardweare store carry it
I don't know how I got into this the first place ,but I work without patterns
now I have to fix it .:-((((

Similar to the other suggestions, especially if staining isn't being done plain old "Bondo" or automotive body filler will work. As it sets up ( in a small window of time) it is rubbery and can quickly be roughed in. After that it's sanding to shape.
It will end up a pinkish color and will not take a stain.
You can find it at almost any place that has an automotive department or auto parts stores. Cheap too. There are many other epoxies and resins that will fill the gaps as well. Most though do not take stain at all.
What I have done if a piece needs to look natural is to literally paint the filler to match the wood grain and finish with a clear sealer. It pretty much disappears from view. Or at the least doesn't stick out like the proverbial sore thumb.

Polyester casting resin is available at most any craft store. I buy mine at MIchaels. I described the filling procedure in the thread at :

This thread remineded me of the origins of the word SINCERE. In ancient times sculpter also make mistakes when using marble. To fill in the gaps they used wax. The Latin word for wax is ceres. SINCERE means without wax (no fake stuff).
Just a thought.

Thanks again,I wish I would be quicker with the camera it would be easier to explain, the girl is looking out off a window and her left arm bend over the window sill, it is that elbow. so when the wood will hang it is not right in the eye it would not show a bit of pink Mark, I am not sure either if I give the girl abit of color I get into more trouble not working with drawings etc, oh well I am to old to change lol
