Alice, thanks for the picture. That will definitely help! I guess I am a visual learner.

Kevin, we were flipping through the channels last night and happened to stop on the Ugliest Dog Contest...you guessed it, a Chinese Crested won...poor thing had three legs and something was wrong with one eye. Beauty is truly in the eyes of the beholder, huh?

Our old ***** would be a strong contender for an ugly dog contest. She's a rescue dog we got at six weeks. There are bits of this breed and bits of that breed in her. Separately these bits look ok, but when put to together they do n't match. When she's wet I'd say she's win any ugly dog contest.

auldiddy, did you use a dog term that starts with 'b' and ends in 'itch'? Seems the forum software thought you were saying something bad . . .

I dont know if this will help but here are my two cents. I suggest you do a model in clay work out your currly fur on the clay pup. I can tell you this you need to leave plenty of bulk for that kind of hair. I did this bust of Lincoln when I was home with mostly hand tools. I am more of a chainsaw and grinder guy now days. I will say that hair done well and eyes are the hardest to master.
