Hi there. I have completed a couple of basic carvings now and was wondering how and where to make the pants and shirt wrinkles so it looks natural. Some tips or pics would be great. Thanks.

Your wish seems to be WCI's command! If you subscribe to the magazine, you'll find the article in the current (summer) issue will answer most of your questions,I'm sure. If you don't have it , it's a good investment as it answers those and so many other questions ! John

You might not believe this but the old masters, such as Michaelangleo, DaVinci, Raphael would take a piece of Linen and soak it in plaster then drape it over a models leg or torso and let it dry. Once dry they would varnish it and they would now have a number of pieces in their collection to work from. The same applies in todays world except we now have Digital Camera's to help us out.....your choice make a plaster model of what you need or get someone to sit for you and take a series of photo's from every angle with good lighting....do not use the flash. It creates hard shadows that distort the depth of field in a photo. Blackjaxe "Support Bacteria. They're the only culture some people have"

There is a book called drawing dynamic wrinkles and drapery. It really goes into deatail and has more information about everything you can do with cloth.. There is a place where you can read it on line for free. I think it was posted under reference materials sometime back. Dan |

Next best thing is a full length mirror and wearing a simular piece of clothing and looking in the mirror how gthe fabric flows. Or like has been suggested, take a picture and down loard it to youjr printer.
