Default cheap carvers screw

This is one that you guys in the states seem to have a good supply of but here in the UK it looks like there are only 2 suppliers. These are M12 thread but they come in smaller sizes aswell.

If your in the UK and want some i paid around £17 delivered for 2 screws washers and wingnuts. Feel free to PM or E-Mail me for the suppliers details!
(if its ok i will put a link on here, let me know please)

We call them "anchor bolts" and double nutting them helps.

Here's one that is a bit smaller than the one you picture:

Buy 1/4"-20 Thread, 3" Length Hanger Bolt, Hanger Bolts and Dowel Screws, Nuts

Also comes in 3/8 x 3.5 in

Well that's a heck of an idea.
Thanks!

So I take it that hardware stores and home improvement centers don't exist in the UK?

Anchor bolts are easy to find and inexpensive (about $1 US) here.

In the UK we have loads, but its all brick and plaster nobody builds with wood. Its a very different world over here, fire insurance for timber framed buildings is highly priced and the American style of compleat door/window in a frame ready to fit is rare unless its Upvc. I guess we just have no class when it come to building homes!?

Thanks for sharing your idea, Druid. Some people may not have thought of it.
