I made this table from wood I had here at home. My brother in law gave me the craftsman work station, so this did not cost much at all. The idea came from Brian Bailey, who made a very nice one. I will probably modify this table as I find out what works and what doesn't. My next none carving project will be to make one of those carousel bucket tool holder. Thanks to all who post here and give freely of their ideas. |

Nice table! I like the way you have your work surface tilted. I need to do that with mine to keep distortions of perspective to a minimum. |

This thread inspired me to modify my table. I made it so I can adjust the angle instead of have it clamped flat on the bench. Thanks! |

Nice one Brian. Do the rails get in your way when carving, as far as when they are taller than your work piece? I tried to keep them lower than my work piece. Do you like the clamp better than the wedge you had on your other board? And thank you for sharing. Todd |

Hi Todd, The rails haven't been a problem yet. If they do get in the way they're just screwed on so removal would be easy. The clamp is a hold down from one of my table saw sleds. It worked really great when I'm cutting miters on the table saw so I thought I'd give it a try. So far I like it better than the wedge. Thanks for the inspiration, I've been going to do this for quite some time. |

| Brian How old is the work bench your carving table is sitting on? Great looking work bench, has real character, just like the owner. Knarl Twisted Pine Studio - Wood Sculptures - Haliburton, ON |

Knarl, My dad made the bench from recycled transformer pallets (he worked for the power company) approx. 30/35 yrs. ago. The wood is mostly red oak and maple and has seen a lot of use. Thanks for asking. |
