I had a round work bench once, but everytime I sat something on it, they would fall off? guess logs are not designed as a workbench

That is about the neatest carving stand I have ever seen... With one action the piece can be moved to ANY angle.... and who'da thought to use a bowling ball! Great !

the biggest advantage of the bowling ball is that the stuff inside it is inert
(Im not sure if thats the correct term)But the things won't bounce, they absorb the energy,consequently when I'm bashing away with a gouge and mallet the vibrations don't travel back up the piece and leave chatter marks.
