Default Carving a basket

Back in 1998 someone asked me how I carved a basket on the back of Santa. We had just bought our first digital camera and took these fuzzy, off-color photos, sent them to Bette Franke and she made this site:

Maybe some of you can get some use from it or print it for future use. I hope so

Thanks, Nancy! That is a great tutorial, not just for a Santa basket, but for any "basketweave" project.

If anyone wants to see the carving that prompted the instructions, check here.......

Wonderful tutorial! Great carving. I have book marked it as well for reference when including a basket into a relief carving. I did one, but I like yours so much better!
Thanks for posting that.

That is a great looking tutorial. I've had it bookmarked for quite a while. Maybe one of these days I'll actually get a chance to try it!
