Default Blade Protection

This is a cheap and easy way to protect the blades on you carving knives. Just a small binder clip with a small piece of leather. I put honing oil in the leather. That keeps the leather flexible. The clip also keeps the knife from rolling around on a table or when put away.

Did you glue the leather into the clip or just leave it loose? Good idea how ever you did it.
Thanks for posting.

The leather is just loose in the clip. Because you do not have to open the clip much to get the blad out the leather seems to stay in place, most of the time.

Great idea!

Protects the blade and props up the knife.

Woodcarving Illustrated Magazine has a section where you can submit neat ideas like that for potential prizes. Wouldn't hurt to submit that one.
