Default another tip

I put this on another wood forum, so thought it should also go here for my favorite forum! If you have old worn out scrollsaw blades, save them, they are good for a number of things two of which I will post here...#1...grind the end to a skew shape and drill a hole in a piece of dowel and insert the blade leaving about an 1 1/2in or maybe 2 inches, depending on how thick the blade is, if it will not be too flexible...these make great pumpkin cutters ..and with halloween coming up ?? #2...you can grind off the cutting edge so you don't rake yourself with the teeth, grind and polish the end and make a small chisel, great for getting into tight spots..and the steel is good so will hold an edge....

No I didn't...but I think they read the posts, besides, Bob was going to try to get a "tip" topic, at least I suggested one.

That is such a cool idea, Hi_Ho! My son is sooo into halloween pumpkins and always buys the biggest, heaviest one he can find. We often end up using a kitchen serrated steak knife which just isn't flexible enough to go smoothly around the curves of a good face. Your tip is good enough that I just might sacrifice a new, never used scroll saw blade for his pumpkin carvingcome Halloween.

Thanks!

Susan

Only if you are Billy Corigan and it's 1979--or if you have a Bullet with Butterfly Wings...Sorry, an alternative music reference <grin>

Billy Corrigan is the lead singer for the band Smashing Pumpkins--Bullet with Butterfly Wings is one of their more popular songs...

I have always preferred Art Alexakis...Songs from an American Move Pt 1 and 2...

The VCR and the DVD
There wasn't none of that crap
Back in 1970

We didn't know about
A world wide web

It was a whole different game being played
Back when I was a kid

You wanna get down
In a cool way?

Just picture yourself on a beautiful day

With the big bell bottoms
And groovy long hair
Justa walking in style
With a portable CD player

No
No...you would listen
To the music on
The AM radio

Yeah...you could hear the music
The AM radio

Flashback to '72
Another summer in the neighborhood
Hanging out with nothing to do...............
