Default You know you are addicted to carving when . . .

This just popped into my head yesterday. Maybe others have something to add?

You know you are addicted to carving when . . .

1. you no longer need to use hair spray because you hair is stiff enough by the time you finally put the carving down long enough to wash out the sawdust.

2. you move the firewood into the shop.

3. your carving knives are sharp and shiny but your kitchen knives won't cut butter.

4. you go on carving vacations ( added by Don by the Lake )

5. You have buckets of branches thawing out in the bathtub. (5. - 8. added by Marci)

6. You find yourself making faces in the potatoes when your supposed to be peeling them.

7. You find yourself slowing down along the backroads looking at downed trees.

8. You have your battery operated sawsall in the vehicle with you at all times.

9. you keep more of your woodstove wood for carving rather than burning. (9.-11. added by Gilly)

10. you have more woodchips than money in your pockets.

11. it takes you 45 minutes to sharpen a pencil because it just does'nt look right.

12. You aren't offended when you are called a "blockhead". (added by KennyS)

13. you are addicted to carving ,when you throw your husband out of his workshop so you can go in. (13 & 14. added by Alice-in Wonderland)

14. Or you carve outside at 28 F with gloves ,hat and warm underwear.

15. You know your addicted to carving when all the surfaces in the house have stumps/sticks/blocks of wood on them..ready to be carved. (15. & 16 by Marci)

16. You know your addicted to WCI's forum when you bypass the bathroom early in the morning to see who's up and who's got new projects done at the WCI's forum.

17. You look through carving catalogs for a birthday presents for you're wife,...... who does not carve. (added by Jim Q.)

18. You know you're addicted to carving when you go to Hawaii and have to ship a box of wood home because there isn't any room in your suitcase. (added by Whittlewoman)

19. When you climb three sections of scaffold with three chainsaws and a box of tools. Then look down at the miniture world below you when you are doing a tree sculpture and ask yourself "What the hell am I doing up here? (added by Colin Partridge)

20. You know your addicted when you nick yourself and your more worried about getting blood on the carving. (added by Mel MN)
