I got the idea from another (computer) forum I hang around on. It gives forum users a better idea, some depth to who and what you are all about.

What are you self-proclaimed expert on? - Well I do not claim to be an expert on anything, but there are a lot of things I consider myself good at. But I quess I would be consider an expert husband. I do as I am told, I don't complain often , and I always call 10 mins before going home, and last I never ask questions.

- A dull knife. And I used my husband's winter glove as protection!
What's the dumbest thing you've ever done yourself or seen someone else do while carving/woodworking? - The other day, I almost sprayed my carving with PAM Cooking spray.
How long have you been carving? - 7 years on and off, 2 years more serious.
What was your first project, and where is it now? - A Tom Wolfe Santa Claus. He's with my collection.
What are you working on now? - Noah's Ark animals, miniature Santa, & Nativity
What do you dream of working on, but haven't got around to yet? - Actually, just finishing the Ark and Nativity make me very happy since they're for my kids.

Since this is a carving forum I go by my last name, something that is recognizable. On most forums it's WyvernWench aka DragonWoman - Where are you from?

Ah ... Duh? We run a home studio and the commute to work is
about 40 feet down the hall and ten feet from the first cup of morning coffee. As for what I do I'm sometimes not very sure except that I work for this awfull woman that seldom lets me call in sick. - How old are you and when's your birthday?

Sliced the top side of one finger from the hand knuckle up and through the first knuckle about two days before Christmas a few years ago. Not while carving but while cleaning up the work table. No pain but a ka-ton of blood. So at the Doctor's office the Doc is stitching the finger closed and askes how I cut it. "Carving", I say, "Carving what?" he askes, "Butternut", I reply; "Squash?" he inquires; "No," I respond, "Pheasants over old farm fence"  What's your favorite tool? Finally, an easy one ... the bull nose chisel - What was your first tool?
My first carving tool was an old paring knife from my kitchen drawer What's the dumbest thing you've ever done yourself or seen someone else do while carving/woodworking? ??? See above!!!! How long have you been carving? About twelve or fifteen years now ... What was your first project, and where is it now? A blue jay feather following an article in Wood magazine What are you working on now? An african mask that sets upon a full elephant's face What do you dream of working on, but haven't got around to yet? Remember Jurassic Park Movie. There were posts in the dining room that had fossils of dinasaur bones imbedded in the stone ... those!!! Last but not least: - What do you know best -- that is, where is your expertise? I'm a pattern maker first and foremost followed by a teacher for the most basic of beginners/ What are you self-proclaimed expert on? Woman's Lib, Dog art prints and the care and feeding of your beloved hubby.

When I first started, using an x-Acto, no glove. What's your favorite tool? Foredom, My Flexcut Detail Knife. It's a toss up. - What was your first tool?
My Flexcut detail knife after I threw out the x-acto crap. What's the dumbest thing you've ever done yourself or seen someone else do while carving/woodworking? Worked for hours perfecting a tusk on a Warthog, then while carving an area by the ear used the tusk for leverage with my thumb. Get the picture? How long have you been carving? Two years I think. Seems longer for some reason. What was your first project, and where is it now? A caricature scene of a man and woman holding chickens. It became a trophy for the Western National Silkie Show. What are you working on now? A Red River hog What do you dream of working on, but haven't got around to yet? Something Norbury'ish or a life-sized carousel horse. What are you self-proclaimed expert on? My only claim to fame was horses. Animals in general. Most likely have "been there, done that". Not bad in auto mechanics to a point. I've done a lot of stuff in my life so far, got pretty good at some stuff but don't consider myself an expert at anything.
