| | Re: What is wrong My friends, this thread has taken a turn that is definitely headed into shoal waters. I realize that this is the Off Topic category; but, we need to remember that the forum is made up of people who love woodcarving. That is what brings us together.
We are from all different walks of life and, no doubt, cover the full political spectrum from ultra conservative to ultra liberal. I am also certain that we are made up of varying religious beliefs. These are the two most devisive topics that can be brought into a discussion.
Please, before you hit the submit post button ask yourself....Would my consevative, or liberal, or religious, or atheist friend be offended by this message?
Hopefully, we all have friends in a category to which we do not belong. |

| | Re: What is wrong Love the one about the poor children carving mud with sticks!!
My husband and I both work at opposite ends of the same studio. We stay as far away from each other as we can. I thought it was so we wouldn't comment on each others' work and stop the creative process, but after years of doing it, I have come to believe that it's to keep my muse. I don't want my muse to become interested in what he's doing, hop off my shoulder and go sit on his. Then, I would be without mine. His has come to sit with me a few times, and he comes and watches me work jealous that I'm inspired. Mine goes to visit him sometimes, and I stare at my wood until it comes back. We are both very possessive and jealous of each others' muses. Thankfully, we do have one each. They just don't always stay where they are supposed to be.
Maybe yours just went on vacation while you were busy. Don't worry, it will return and you'll know it is there immediately. Meanwhile, I agree that you should enjoy taking a break until the ideas and urges start to clutter your mind again during conversations, while you're in the grocery store, and while you're supposed to be listening to your wife.

My old man always said;
"If you want to keep your friends, don't talk Race, Religion, or Politics".
I have found that to be pretty good advice.
Okay, I will get off my soapbox.
