| | World Wide Wood Carver's Day????? Don't let this get out but I was going through http://carverscompanion.com/Ezine/ snagging "Ol' Don" Burgdorf patterns (if there is anyone who hasn't found this site yet it's got some great reference material) and I happened across a reference to World Wide Wood Carver's Day, August 15, 2002. Then I did a Google and found another Wood Carver's Day in 2003.... then nothing. Was this just a blip on the cosmic calendar or is this a set date? Anyone know? Seems to me that it's a pretty good idea and ought to be something that gets some P.R. I had a lady approach me in Bed Bath and Beyond this afternoon and wanted to know all about the cane that I was using. When I told her that I carved it and that there was a whole bunch of old guys and gals (sorry you youngsters... it was all I could do to get the old across to her) out there carving all sorts of things she didn't believe me and wanted to know why she hadn't heard of it before. I've run across this response before! Sounds to me like "Old Farts" carving is one of the world's best kept secrets! Anyway... Woodcarver's Day to all!!!!
