I know the feeling, we had to put down my Mare due to founder.
Its never a good thing, but I felt it best as I didn't want her to suffer.
Sorry about your loss.
Bill

Lynn, my condolences go out to you and Judy.

Your reflections on Sugar brought tears to my eyes too, but the memories will live on strong forever. God bless you both. Bill

Trully sad news Lynn,

I am very sorry to hear of your wife and your loss.
My wife had her horse from the time she was born until three years ago, the horse lived to be 32 years old. Even with his extreme old age, she still wasn't prepared for his loss.

Horses and their human partners seem to form a bond a bit stronger than any other animal human connection. I suppose it's because the horse carries the human along, the only way that happens is if the horse trusts and respects the human. The only way to get that trust and respect is by love, understanding and putting it all on the line with the horse. They can understand emotions better than any dog I've seen, and can do a lot of cheering up too.

Please pass my condolences along to Judy too.
I'll keep you both in my prayers.
Doug
