| | woodcarving Exhibit Hi Woodcarvers,
We have set up an exhibit titled "Escher in Wood" in Meadville, PA. It is in the Creative Crust bakery in the historic district, and will be on exhibit for most of the summer. It features eleven works, mostly relief carvings, based on the designs of M. C. Escher.

| | Re: woodcarving Exhibit Yes, Thor, it's a long way. I'm visiting my son's family here and staying nearby until fall. I lost my wife in March and they're "taking care of me."

| | Re: woodcarving Exhibit Phil -
Very sorry to hear that you lost your wife. I wish I were closer to where your exhibit is. I'd LOVE to see it. I like Escher a LOT and the thought of seeing his design spring to life in a relief carving is WAY cool. Did you say you are coming to NEWR this year? (only a few more weeks - yippie!!!) If so - then I'm hoping you'll have some of your work there to show off. !

| | Re: woodcarving Exhibit Yes, Claude, I am going to the Northeast Woodcarvers Roundup near the end of this month. My exhibit is in the Meadville near Erie.
I'm still working on the "Waterfall" but it's looking nice.

| | Re: woodcarving Exhibit My wife would like to sell them to a museum where they could be appreciated since we do not have kids that would appreciate these tools. Thank you for your advice. |

| | Re: woodcarving Exhibit Word of advice - old tools - especially those in good condition can be VERY valuable to collectors. Not sure about museums. But before you do anything with them I would carefully inventory them and try (if possible) to determine maker and an approximate value. If they are that old - a lot may not have any maker's mark. In any case, do some research online for "old tools" dealers and get several estimates if possible to prevent a mistake in giving them away for too little. It is a shame if it is a complete set of tools to break them up.
Just my $.02 worth.
