Default Woodcarvers of Northwest Arkansas Show

Our 33rd Annual Competition, Show and Sales is set for October 15 & 16, 2011, at the Benton County Fairgrounds, Bentonville, AR. We have added a new twist to this years show scheduling it on Craft Week where over 25 craft shows bring in over 300,000 visitors from all over the nation to sell and buy art work and crafts. The show is located on the main highway to XNA our northwest Arkansas airport. We expect many more visitors this week to our show than in the past and have made several changes to our standard setup. Tool vendor is Old Texas Woodcarving Shop and wood vendor is Wilcox Woods. We will have the standard 8 ft. tables (50 available) and for the first time 10X10 foot booths without tables. These booths will be checked for only woodcarvings or turnings, made by the booth holder, no imports or craft type items. Booths will be inspected upon setup. You may sell roughouts marketed by yourself but no tools unless they are made by yourself.
For additional information email me or call Bob Unruh, show chair, 479-876-6420 or me at 479-756-6302 for a brochure or you can open the pdf file below. 8' table rate is $35.00 and booths are $40.00, you may purchase multipal booths. Please remember this is set up for artistic work of carved or turned items, with the intent of furthering artistic carvings & turnings.
Charlie Wolfe, club pres.

Looks like I left out some important information.
The fairgrounds has RV sites with elec. contact Mary at 479-795-8900 Reserve early.
The Wingate Hotel 2 miles from show, has rooms for Friday & Sat night for $59.00. rest of the week it is $84.00 per night. Limited number reserve early. 479-418-5400 you must give them info that you are part of the Woodcarvers of NW Arkansas Show to get these rates.
Also you can sell your carvings from your 8' table but must not use more than 10% of your table for this.
We always have a great time ath the shows, hope to see some of you there with your carvings or turnings.
Charlie.

Just hang tight. Supposed to be 50+ degrees this coming weekend. You ought to be able to sit on the front porch and carve to your hearts content. I live in Springfield, MO so you ought to have about the same kind of weather as we do.

Our Show is now only a month away. Here is a good chance to sell some of your carvings, roughouts, tools and turnings.
Booth cost is $40.00 for a 10x10 booth for 2 day show.
For more info. and a brochure, either email me or call Bob Unruh 479-876-6420
Go down to posting #1 and click on the photo and there is a pdf brochure.
If you want to enter competition the table cost is $35.00.
This is craft week in Northwest Arkansas attracting upwards of 300,000 hungry shoppers. If you have never been here, you have no idea what that many hungry women shoppers are like. We have buyers from as far away as California and New York City. Many are buying items to restock their Gift shops back home.
This year we are on a major highway betwen NW Regional Airport and Bentonville, home to Wal-Mart Corporate Offices.
If you do not have anything to sell, just drop by and shop for tools and the like. Old Texas Woodcarvers Shop is going to be here. We will also have a bass wood vendor there.
Y'all come see us now.
Charlie

It's surprising that this event is not listed in the Calendar of Events.

Just added it to the calendar pending approval.
We have it listed in ChipChats and WCI magazine. You can get full information by opening the pdf file in the first post here.
In spite of gas and the ecconomy we are looking at a better show this year, than the last one.
Now, Y'll come on down and visit. This is a great area and with over 25 craft shows and over 300,000 crafters visiting the area, there is a lot to see.
Opening in November, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art ,
Crystal Bridges Museum
will be the new place to visit here with outstanding american art.
Northwest Arkansas is becomming a destination instead of a stop over on a trip.

Thanks Charlie Wolfe for the information - I had read the pdf file and seriously considered coming to the event. We are presently in Pennsylvania where I have an exhibit of relief carvings. Soon the snow will fly and we'll head south and west to our home.

Be sure and look me up. Only 3 weeks away.
Soon panic will set in for the Show chairman and coworkers.

Show is this weekend. Fall color is not as breath taking as in the past but has some real brilliant trees here and there. Dry summer has had it's effect. If you are in the area drop in, we have some real artisans displaying. One is bringing a full size eagle with wings spread out in a lift off position.
Need directions? look at the pdf file below.
