Default woodcarvers museum

I was up in Custer S.D. this week taking in the scenes. I noticed several signs with directions to the the national wood carvers museum and an invitation to come visit. A word of caution, don't take it literally. I stopped in to visit .... I must of have interrupted his morning paper.

Be assured...If you're a wood carver and you hang a sign that says "come see me" The Troll is gonna be knock'n on your door....eventually. And if you show up under my bridge there'll be a fresh pot of coffee brew'n.

I visited there in the late 80's and really enjoyed it...maybe things have changed since then?

The museum is just fine, infact they've spruced it up some. And it's nice to see shelves stocked with hand carved items and not all resin cast mass procuced in china. just don't bother the carver

I stopped there in "97" when my wife and I did the Sturgis rally.

Had the same experience with the one guy carving there. There wasn't anyone else there. Figured the guy would like to talk carving, he didn't, so I left.
