| | Woodcarver's Poetry Contest Well, I entered the Woodcarver's Poetry Contest which was sponsored by Carving magazine as a lark and what do you know, I won the doggone thing. Anybody interested in this sort of thing can see the winning entry at www.carvingmagazine.com and click on Readers Forum and then click on Carvers Gallery. You can also see the rest of my woodcarving poems at www.picturetrail.com/artinwood I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I did composing them.
Oh yeah, I won a gift certificate to The Woodcraft Shop, Bettendorf, Iowa for $150.00 plus a woodspirit by Jan Oegema and a year's subscription to Carving Magazine. Sure was fun!

| | Re: Woodcarver's Poetry Contest Doug, pulled up, read, and thoroughly enjoyed all of your poems. The one for the contest is obviously a winner; but, my favorite is "Masterpiece". Hopefully, there is one in all of us woodcarvers. |

| | Re: Woodcarver's Poetry Contest Heh, I was thinking of entering that contest, but all I could come up with was "I'm a poet, don't ya know it?"
Congrats on the win. Have you decided what you'll get, yet? |

Yeah, I've already ordered $150.00 worth of wood from The Woodcraft Shop, courtesy of Haroun from Finland, and Jan Oegema has already sent me a really nice wood spirit pic below. The wood should be here today or tomorrow and the only other prize I'm waiting on is the subscription to Carving Magazine. Nice prizes, huh?
