Oscar | Well, I lived in CV (hilltop area) for 30 years but had to move to Northern VA for work about 14 years ago.

| | Re: Where are the Wood Carvers Keoma you live in one of the most beautiful parts of California, been there, I believe it is a wood carver's paradise. However kinda far for me to jump in my car and share carving ideas. My wife and I use to drive to your area from our home in Oregon. We do make frequent trips back Oregon as we have property there and still maintain our Oregon residence. We came to California due to my wife's parents that need constant care. For the last two years we have wanted to take our travel and spend sometime around your area but have to cancel due to all the forrest fires. Who knows maybe we will be able to get their.

| | Re: Where are the Wood Carvers Well, Keoma lives to far up North,,Claude,Dave, and Mike moved out of the area, putting 3,000 miles between us and yes Jeff, I have tried the guild and even joined the Wildfowl Carvers Assn. too dang organized for me. I just want to hook up with down to earth carvers as we have on this forum. Between the Marine Corp and Law Enforcement hitches I'm kinda done with formal groups.
Jeff I have definitely not forgotten you and the great tips you have given me, I have completed two Red-Tailed Hawks and a Peregrine Falcon, I had a little trouble making the feet, actually 6 of them that I didn't like. Today I finished the feet, mounted the peregrine on aspen log and the other two on on burnt timber I found at the site of the 1988 Forrest fire at Yellowstone Park. Soon as I have all three ready I'll photo them post for all to see. Yesterday I roughed out another Red Tailed Hawk and try omit the mistakes I made on the previous two.
I also have had my thoughts towards the Escondido and Hemet Carvers clubs, soon as it cools down a tad, I will be trailering toward the Idyllwild and Hemet areas. I will also be contacting you for a cup of Joe and discussing any seminars you might be having this fall and winter in Hemet. I was told that both the Riverside and Hemit carvers are great people to meet. By the way Jeff,my grandson Tyler and his other grand dad pinned the Mst.Sgt.emblems on his at a promotion gathering for the Marines stationed
at Rhode Island. The kids will be moving back to Camp Pendleton as soon as Tyler has surgery then his Dad will deploy back to Afganistan.
