Is that right? Someone told me bald heads were solar panels for a sex machine! Cool

Ya know? If someone ever comes in here and browses through this thread without really reading it, they are going to end up thinking we we talking about:

Rabbel Rousing Bald Women with Horns standing on Soap Boxes so that we could Pay Taxes, Carve People, and ... wait for it ... pretend we are Nordic Gods!

See if I EVER try and discuss something serious of this forum again ... sigh!

Susan, a little old round mamma that likes to play with sharp knives.

(Really, not that round yet and more like almost old, but the sharp knives is right.)

Thumbs up Re: Women and Wood Carving

Hi Susan,

I owe a lot of my carving skills to your books and articals. I haven't been in any carving competions except for the Virginia State Fair, but I've won some ribbons.

The usual reaction from someone seeing one of my carvings is to ooh and ahh over the piece, then ask where I got it. When I tell them that I made it, I get a wide-eyed stare. Their reply is usually,"You carved this"!!! I gues I don't look much like a wood carver, Ha, Ha!

Luck from the wood lot,
Peacewood

I have to say, this was an interesting read. I had heard of you, L. Irish from your books long before I carved. But Thor, I assumed you were a guy too when I saw the screen name, but figured I was wrong because I saw the Christina White .

And Bob D., were you really born in 77? OMG you're a baby! I've been married longer than you are old! And I still kind of like him!

Boy is this behind the power curve. It makes me sad to hear that there is still ignorant and foolish people out there. I grew up homeschooled and fairly sheltered, my parents would have whooped me for even hinting at any kind of discrimination and because of that and their example I grew up thinking it was a thing of the past. When I joined the military, boy was it shell shock. Don't get me wrong, I have never seen anybody held back because of gender, race religion or creed, but I had the shock of a lifetime a few years ago when a Marine told me he didn't like or trust a Marine simply because of the color of his skin. I was quite angry and never did trust that Marine again. I am the eldest of six kids three boys, three girls, I am a Marine Sergeant, married, with a beautiful five month old daughter. Although I know that my folks are proud of me and my service, I am prouder of my two sisters directly younger than me. One has completed her bachelors majoring in childhood development and is getting the application together to pursue her masters and do clinical work. She played in the colleges symphony orchestra and is far more intelligent and hard working than I. My other sister is about to rap up her bachelor in business, a former culinary arts student, with plans to open up a pastry shop when she gets enough money together. I am the eldest male son, but its my sisters that are the shining examples, not me. These fools that discrimnate need a little pop on the back of the head until such time as they relize the error of their ways. Imbeciles.

Thor, I have to comment that I didn't attach any gender to your name, I just thought you were refering to Norse mythology.

Well, my two cents I guess. Better late than never?
